Separate the cabinet into parts

Ask about the actual room conditions
Explain where the vanity will be used and share the room layout. Ask the supplier to state the intended conditions for the proposed assembly. Do not assume that a decorative sample demonstrates suitability for the entire bathroom.
If the proposal uses a term such as “waterproof”, request the exact product documentation and scope behind it. Distinguish a material description from a tested assembly or a project-specific design.
An example of a manufacturer’s boundary
MEDITE SMARTPLY — MEDITE MR product FAQs says its MEDITE MR board is intended for interior humid conditions and is not waterproof. That statement is specific to MEDITE MR. It is not evidence that every MDF board or every vanity made with it is suitable.
Ask for comparable documentation for the actual plywood, MDF or other board proposed. Read the MDF and plywood specification guide for component-level questions.
Look beyond the visible door
Two vanities can look similar while using different box materials, backs, drawer construction, edges and hardware. Request a component schedule before comparing prices. Where a sample represents only a door finish, label it accordingly.
The basin, countertop and plumbing arrangement also need coordination. Record the selected products and ask the designer, supplier and installer to resolve their interfaces using the relevant documentation. This page does not prescribe sealing methods, mounting details or waterproofing work.
Compare two proposals fairly
- Use the same vanity dimensions and basin arrangement.
- Keep the list of included parts visible.
- Record each board and finish product separately.
- Request the corresponding care and intended-use information.
- Identify unresolved items instead of assuming the two builds are equivalent.
Prepare the next conversation

Questions buyers ask
Is plywood automatically the best bathroom vanity material?
No. Compare the actual board product, cabinet construction and intended conditions. The material name alone does not establish suitability.
Is moisture-resistant MDF waterproof?
Do not treat moisture resistance as waterproofing. Check the exact manufacturer documentation and the complete vanity specification.
Can the doors and box use different materials?
They can be specified separately. Ask the supplier to identify the component build and provide relevant product and care documents.
