2026 Kitchen Design Ideas: From Inspiration to Specification

Explore appearance choices, then turn the reference into a clear material and component specification. These are design ideas, not a ranking of market demand.

Six directions for a project brief

Design ideaWhat to specify
Handle-less frontsOpening method, grip arrangement and door layout
Warm wood appearanceReal veneer, solid wood or decorative surface; species or pattern reference
Matte surfacesNamed finish system, sample, care instructions and available supporting data
Mixed materialsWhere each finish begins and ends; matching and interface questions
Tall integrated storageAppliance references, internal storage needs and drawing revisions
Textured panelsPattern direction, dimensions and edge details

Compare a finish beyond the photograph

Matte describes appearance. It does not establish scratch resistance or fingerprint performance. Request information for the exact surface and compare labelled samples under the same conditions.

Read PET versus lacquer for manufacturer references and a finish comparison worksheet. Use MDF versus plywood to separate the board from the decorative finish.

Turn the idea into an enquiry

Identify the parts you want to reproduce: colour, texture, proportions or opening style. Mark dimensions as provisional until checked and keep appliance and hardware references with the drawing revision.

Prepare your measurements and complete the cabinet RFQ checklist.
